Science and the Bible: Time, Space, and Matter

Have you ever noticed that the very first line of the Bible reflects a concept modern science didn’t define until thousands of years later?
Let’s take a look at Genesis 1:1:
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
This single verse reveals that God is the origin of time, space, and matter — the very three components that make up the physical universe.
“In the beginning” = Time
“God created the heavens” = Space
“And the earth” = Matter
God created all three — time, space, and matter — at the same time. He exists outside of time and is not bound by the limitations of His creation.
This truth is reinforced in Exodus 3:14, when God reveals His Name to Moses:
“I AM WHO I AM.”
The word “am” is the first person singular of “to be”, which literally means “to exist.” God is saying: I exist — always have, always will.
And in the Book of Revelation, God confirms His eternal nature:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come.” (Revelation 1:8, WEB)
This view of God as timeless, eternal, and beyond the physical universe was recorded by Moses between 1450 and 1410 B.C., long before the concept of the Space-Time Continuum was introduced in scientific circles in the early 1900s A.D.
Just to clarify:
B.C. stands for Before Christ
A.D. stands for Anno Domini — Latin for “in the year of the Lord”
God’s Word isn’t just spiritually profound — it’s scientifically consistent with principles that modern minds are only now beginning to grasp.
